Hamilton: the Revolution, by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter, details how the American revolution became a landmark Broadway show and a national phenomenon, tracing the show’s development from an improbable performance at the White House to its opening night on Broadway. The book includes both the full text of the award-winning libretto written by Miranda and photos, as well as exclusive interviews with multiple performers in the show, leading political commentators, numerous people involved with the production, and multiple appearances by President Obama.
The hit musical Hamilton won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and eleven Tony Awards, including best musical. In addition, the creative team behind Hamilton received a prestigious award at the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors for their groundbreaking work and contribution to the arts. This was the first award of this type at this event.
